Born in Texas and raised in several states throughout the midwest, Justin Wheeler was an active young man. He found his passion for golf in the eighth grade and pursued it feverishly while in between soccer seasons.  Justin pursued a B.S. in business during his early college years. As a college freshman he applied at the golf course his parents lived on and was hired as a summer laborer and found a new passion. During his senior year of college he changed majors and joined the Agriculture College at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a major in Agronomy and Horticulture specializing in turfgrasses and business.

After several seasons at Prairie Landing , Justin was offered the opportunity to broaden his skill-set and move to the lovely city of Charleston, SC and gather some excellent warm season turf experience as a golf superintendent MT working for the United States Air Force at Charleston Air Force Base, Wrenwoods Golf Course. He has had the priviledge of heading up several course improvements including fairway and bunker renovations, well replacements and capital equipment purchases.

Justin has been a 6 year member of the GCSAA and is currently in his third year at Wrenwoods Golf Course. He is a proud husband of Jennifer and recent father of Lukas.  Dugan, the faithful golden retriever accompanies him to work every day. Justin's dedication to the profession of golf course management continues to grow with every year as he continues to serve on committes, write and publish articles and pursue professional development and education.
Justin has had the priviledge of working for some fine superintendents during his formative years in the industry of golf course management and has taken learning experiences from each employment to create his own work ethic, management and team practices, and golf course vision.
Justin moved to the booming Chicago suburbs after graduation and enjoyed a short tenure at the famed Chicago Golf Club while searching for assistant superintendent positions. His fortunes were good landing an assistants position at Prairie Landing Golf Club, a 5-star rated facility in West Chicago, IL.
